AT HOME WITH THE REGGIO APPROACH
PLAYING TOGETHER AT HOME
by Preschools and Infant-toddler centres – Istituzione of the Municipality Reggio Emilia, and Reggio Children
The intention behind this proposal is to focus on the concept of listening through an experience where we concentrate on our ears and our sense of hearing.
When we listen our ears don’t just receive sounds, they send them directly to the brain and set off a creative thinking process: listening is a marvellous combination of thoughts and hearing processes, it takes curiosity and a desire for discovery.
SEND US YOUR NEW SOUND RIDDLES
Our homes are a “symphony of sounds”: try to look around and find fun, strange, or curious sounds in your home, in the garden, on the balcony, at the windows, and make recordings of them. They can be sounds produced by objects, animals, nature, or everyday things, that you can make into new SOUND RIDDLES and add to future playlists.
Send your riddle in an email to iorestoacasa@reggiochildren.it.
Together with your sound file send us a short caption telling us:
> what the sound is
> where you “collected” it
> your name, age, and where you live
Useful advice:
> Use a digital recorder or your smartphone (mp3, mp4, and Wave formats)
> Make your recording no longer than 15-15 seconds
> Listen to your sounds carefully and make sure they’re recorded properly before you send them to us
