ATELIER ONLINE

Mosaic of Marks, Words and Materials Atelier

The Mosaic of Marks Words and Materials Atelier is an invitation to experiment with and try out mark-making tools and unexpected material surfaces.

To drawing and tell stories means imagining, analysing, and exploring spaces, forms, colours, words, metaphors, emotions, rhythms and pauses, to enter a narrative dimension that is both interior and exterior, played out between reality, make-believe, and interpretation.

You are invited to see with your eyes and your hands, to experiment with encounters between tools and materials, and to discover the effects these encounters generate.

The Mosaic of Marks Words and Materials Atelier was born of experience on the theme of drawing and mark-making woven with narrative in Reggio Emilia's municipal infant-toddler centres and preschools.

From this journey an exhibition-atelier and catalogue were created to bring together the processes and work of children in Reggio's centres and schools and to offer further opportunities for a deeper understanding and continuing to explore with children and adults of all ages.

The catalogue is available from the Reggio Children Bookshop

In your Reserved Area you will find a list of easy-to-find materials needed to participate in the Atelier.

Each person will be able to construct their own autonomous journey of research, side-by-side with Reggio Children atelieristas and with their support find ideas and thoughts for working with children of all ages.
