Our task is to help children communicate with the world using all their potential, strengths, and languages, and to overcome any obstacle presented by our culture which still too often impoverishes the child by the excess and intrusiveness of classificatory theorizing, or by the shortcomings or undervaluing of educational research and practice.

Loris Malaguzzi

During the study group you will have opportunities for connecting with different professional profiles: pedagogistas, atelieristas and teachers who work at the Loris Malaguzzi International Centre as well as in Reggio Emilia's Infant-toddler Centres and Preschools.

You will also have the opportunity to connect with other participants coming from all over the world, exchanging experiences and building dialogues and connections.

This International Study Group will focus on investigating different educational professional profiles from multiple points of view: roles, responsibilities, organisation, working strategies, collegiality, professional learning, self-organised professional learning, research, and designing/progettazione.

THE PROGRAMME WILL BE DEVELOPED THROUGH:

  • Understanding the principles of the educational project, including essential elements of daily life in the Infant-toddler Centres and Preschools
  • Learning about the objectives and identities of the Infant-toddler Centres and Preschools
  • Presentations of research projects and documentation made by teachers, atelieristas and pedagogistas working in Preschools and Infant-toddler Centres
  • Encountering the city and community of Reggio Emilia and the social, cultural and educational context
