This webinar is part of A SERIES OF WEBINARS ON THE 100 LANGUAGES - The 100 languages of children and adults. These webinars were recorded in October-November 2020.
This webinar is on demand. You can view it whenever you like for 6 months after purchase, in your personal area.
By mark-making or “graphics” we mean the possibility of encountering, knowing, and trying out the relation between different kinds of surfaces and tools for drawing or leaving marks, the possibility of investigating, knowing, and recognising the pluralist nature of marks, of getting closer to the codes of alphabet and number, and the possibility of interpreting subjects/objects of interest to children through drawing.
In infant-toddler centres and preschools, projects that focus on the language of drawing (so often devalued in schools), on the creativity and intelligence that emerge from the processes of arriving at a final drawing, are precious for letting us know, esteem, and appreciate their authors, letting us better understand the beauty of this language, and its wealth of gifts for our mind.
Every drawing is a journey, the children travellers, out to discover themselves and the world, ready to marvel and feel its emotions, suggestions, and potentials.
